Granted I NEVER get a loaner and I’m without a car for great lengths of time. On top of this my hood has bubbled and ford refuses to fix it claiming mileage. I hear there is a SYNC update available, but you have to go to the dealer. I have had the touch screen break on me as well which was blamed on the cold, even though it was in a garage. They put in a new AIPM $800. Now, it’s totally unreliable — the clock, the radio, the nav system, and the phone connection via Bluetooth is less than sporadic. That done I went to Rich Ford who told me a ‘engineer’ from Ford would look at it. I have a 2011 Ford Edge-purchased in May 2011 and now has 46,000 miles. They have tested paint depth and examined the roof. That has been my experience. With that said I had the loud static noises when radio was on/off, so I brought it to the ford dealership. I read in the Detroit News that Bill Ford pulled over to side of the road and said F- this! The dealer has had the car all day and they have informed us that they don’t know how to fix the problem. Both have Sync systems that stop working after each vehicle was our of warranty. I have a 2012 Ford F150 and sync recognizes and plays music from the USB Flash Drive (stick) but will not advance to the next song, just plays the same one over and over. I took to Ford dealership, they could find nothing wrong with it when ran tests and sent me on my way. They will NEVER replace your car… why should they? After multiple rounds of talking with the dealer and directly with Ford, I should have my situation fixed by the end of this month (about 2 months with a partially upgraded and broken SYNC system). This process will erase all of your data from SYNC, and will restore SYNC to factory settings.
